MY MOM HAS KIDNEY CANCER :-(

Me and my brother have been taking my mom back and forth to the doctor for the last couple of months first for the blood clots in her legs and heart which she just had a stint placed in her heart in August and when they did another scan to see how everything was going they found a very large mass on her right kidney and another mass on her left kidney also. The doctor a couple weeks ago gave her a 95% chance that it was cancer and the surgeon that we saw yesterday said that there was no doubt in his mind that it was cancer, and said that the whole right kidney has to come out and possibly a partial of her left as well but would no more once he got in there to see. He sd that usually her would just fo a lapascopic procedure but with her he would have to make the whole incision where he can go in and explore better and also have three other small incisons for the camera. He sd that she would be on chemo after the surgery and most likely diaylasis and possibly will have to have a kidney transplant in two years, but can't have one now because something about she would have to be on certain medicine first. then he starts expaining that there is a good chance that she might not even come through the surgery or recovery because it is a big surgery for her because she also has cornary, pulamnary, and vascular disease, and not sure of her heart is strong enough for the surgery especially after they just put in a stint in. Her surgery is set for December 8th at 7:30 am, she has to wait until then because she has to be cleared for surgery by her cardiologist so thats when she would be "cleared" My brother and i both are planning to stay at the hospital to be near are mom because she will most likely go straight to the ICU after the surgery, so that should be interesting. I am making arrangments for my kids so I can be ready to be there and won't have to drive back and forth to Longview to the hospital. I am about ready to crawl to the back of my closet and just stay there, between my mom going through this, my brother getting cut and hurt, me finding out I'm diabetic, I just want to hide! But I guess god doesn't give you anything you can't handle, so they say! I went to the doctor for my checkup today and they drew blood to check my liver function so I am waiting on those results now~ Anyway, I think that is it and in advance thank you so much for your thoughts and prayers.Cathy
